Logo & label design
The brand tells the story of the mysterious ‘travelling quack’ 'Marvolio' from a bygone era, whose ancient recipes inspired the new drinks.
The brief for the product label was to reflect old apothecary style labels, whilst being contemporary & fresh for stand out in a saturated market. The logo is flexible, with a straight version for digital & a curved version for the label. Each flavour has its own colour way, which reflects the taste - orange for ‘Tequilomile’, tequila with orange & chilli & dark brown for ‘Whiskoffy’, whisky blended with coffee. I also chose a plant drawing related to each product to reflect the apothecary/medicinal theme. The overall feel also incorporates a hint of ‘circus’ theming at the request of the client.

Website design
With such an interesting brand story, I wanted to create a website which was immersive, interesting & most importantly totally unique. Sketches of the fictional character ‘Marvolio’ where created to start bringing the story to life.
For the website concept I settled on creating a virtual world of interactive ‘rooms’ that the user can explore, with interactive items that reveal content in pop ups. I wanted to feature the product throughout the site & came up with the idea of a ‘floating‘ bottle using an old style balloon.
Initially the bottle was going to float down the page, but I decided to turn things on their head - so the user scrolls up the page from the bottom, with the balloon floating up. With this in mind, I created the ‘rooms’ taking you on a journey from the distillery in the basement, through a circus style room, a pub inspired room, street level & ultimately the sky. The website works in reverse and the page scrolling up gives an uplifting & ‘floating’ feeling - like you’d get if you had one too many of the drinks!
I completed the full site design including content/copywriting & UX/UI, then the site was built by developers under my direct supervision. I also added a ‘hamburger’ menu which allows the user to automatically scroll through the page to get to the desired content, making the information easily accessible.
